Media and Text in context of Semiotics

Before we talk about Media and Text in context of Semiotic. First of all we need to know the definition of it.

What is Semiotic? Well in shortest definition, Semiotic is the study of Signs. From Wikipedia,

Semiotics, also called semiotic studies or (in the Saussurean tradition) semiology, is the study of signs and sign processes (semiosis), indication, designation, likeness, analogy, metaphor, symbolism, signification, and communication. Semiotics is closely related to the field of linguistics, which, for its part, studies the structure and meaning of language more specifically

A text, within literary theory, is a coherent set of symbols that transmits some kind of informative message. From semiotic context, text is a sign system strong on arbitrariness,
proposing the autonomy of language in relation to reality. Text emphasis on internal structures and thus does not 'reflect' reality but rather constructs it. Text is conventional with an emphasis on the types index and symbol.

Media, like data, is the plural form of a word borrowed directly from Latin. The singular, medium, early developed the meaning “an intervening agency, means, or instrument” and was first applied to newspapers two centuries ago. In the 1920s media began to appear as a singular collective noun, sometimes with the plural medias. From the meaning itself, we know that media is medium, or way of communication to transport the message. Example of media is text, video, image audio, tactile.
